A local team, not an app
Universe Drop Taxi runs out of Amman Nagar in Tirusulam, a few minutes from Chennai airport. We started with one-way drop taxis, because so many of our customers were paying for a round trip when they only needed to go one way. That's still the heart of what we do.
Today we run sedans, SUVs, Innovas, Innova Crystas and a 12+1 seater Force Urbania. We pick up anywhere in Chennai and from towns across Tamil Nadu, and drop people anywhere in South India: Bangalore, Coimbatore, Madurai, Kochi, Pondicherry, Tirupati and hundreds of smaller towns in between.
When you call us, you talk to a person who can actually confirm a car. When you're on the road, the driver's number is on your phone. And when the trip ends, the bill matches what we told you.
What you can expect from us
Every driver has at least five years of driving experience, wears a uniform and knows the major highways.
Per-km rates published on this site. Toll, parking and permits at actual cost, never marked up.
Airport runs and early starts are routine for us. The driver calls before he reaches you.
In the rare case of a breakdown, we arrange a replacement vehicle as quickly as possible.
