Door to door, one way
A Bangalore to Chennai drop taxi picks you up anywhere in Bangalore (home, office, hotel or Kempegowda airport) and drops you at any address in Chennai. You pay a one-way fare. It's especially handy when you're carrying a lot, travelling with kids or elderly parents, or need to arrive at a particular time.
Distance and time
Expect about 346 km and 6 to 7 hours on NH48, via Hosur, Krishnagiri, Ambur, Vellore and Sriperumbudur. Leaving Bangalore early in the morning avoids the worst of the Hosur Road traffic and gets you into Chennai before the evening rush.
Fare
A sedan works out to roughly ₹5,700 including bata, an SUV about ₹7,050 and an Innova about ₹7,500. For a group of up to 12, the Force Urbania is about ₹18,300. Tolls and the interstate permit are added at actual cost.
